Supporting the future of radiation measurements is critically important to both Mirion and the customers we serve. For this reason, Mirion is excited to offer the Mirion Educational Program for Genie Software.

Building Expertise in Radiation Analysis

To make spectroscopy more accessible to educators, Mirion will provide the Genie Spectroscopy Software and ISOCS™ Sourceless Efficiency Calibration Software free-of-charge annually to qualifying institutions.

What is Included?

1- Year Genie-Single Subscription Option
  • Used on up to 20 computers
  • Supports acquisition and analysis of gamma spectroscopy systems
  • Combine with Mirion Technologies’ supported multi-channel analyzers and your radiation detector of choice
1- Year ISOCS Mathematical Software Calibration Subscription Option
  • Used on up to 20 computers
  • Installed with Genie-Single option above
  • Supports mathematical efficiency calibration modeling of radiation detectors with ISOCS detector characterization
  • Generic detector characterizations available for demonstration purposes to see the impact of sample geometry on a measurement system

What is Genie Software?

Genie software offers:

  • Integrated data acquisition and analysis
  • Distributed MCA (Multichannel Analyzer) networking with centralized data management
  • Full gamma and alpha calibration and activity reporting
  • Python® Scripting Interface
  • And much more

A recent major update to the Genie software delivers scientifically rigorous algorithms and interactive reports for in-depth data discovery.

Real Equipment
Use the software with a Mirion MCA, a radiation detector of your choice, or with the Educational LABKIT- Advanced.

Integrated MCA Simulator
Use the software to help students learn how to change different parameters on the MCA, create and change spectrum simulator files, and compare different types of radiation detectors.

Pre-defined Spectrum for In-depth Analyses
The Genie software is ideal for analyzing a range of real and simulated spectrum for nuclide identification, activity quantification, and other real-world applications. Use pre-defined spectral files to explore analysis capabilities and develop expert review capabilities. Pre-defined spectral files can be provided upon request.

Who is eligible?

This program is available to:

  • Educators (employees or contractors) of an accredited university performing educational or training activities in one of the following countries - Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States.
  • Students (person enrolled full time or part time in the educational institution) under the supervision of the relevant Participant educator(s). Both students and participant educators must be over 18 years of age. Participant will, if requested, provide written confirmation of the age and status for such persons.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Relevant course curriculum for current or upcoming year.
  • (Optional) Provide product feedback for marketing and/or product improvement purposes.
