New Podcast Series: Collaboration Between Mirion and IABTI
Dr. Andrew Karam, better known around the office as Andy, is the Homeland Security Scientific Advisor for Mirion Technologies. He’s an all-around expert in radiation as it relates to Homeland Security (and more), and we’re not the only ones who think so – David O'Sullivan, of the International Association of Bomb Technicians & Investigators (IABTI), just launched a new podcast series featuring Andy: Radiation Myths and Misconceptions.
The IABTI podcast, which has been in production for over two years, is called IABTI Blast and bills itself as the podcast for bomb technicians and investigators.
In the first episode, Andy gets back to basics as he explains what radiation is, the effect it has on the human body, and what to do if someone experiences radiation exposure. Get ready for some accessible science and entertaining anecdotes! Listen now.
Andy’s background in radiation safety extends beyond his career with Mirion Technologies. He joined the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power Program in 1981 and has continued his work with NYC hospitals and NYPD, advising them on radiation safety and critical safety programs. He has worked with Interpol, instructing in radioactive materials smuggling.
We’re proud to have Andy as part of our team and look forward to future installments in this series.
