We are seeking a talented experienced Logistics Coordinator to oversee all aspects of our order fulfilment operations from preparation to transportation to delivery of products & service parts at our UK sites.

The individual will need to coordinate correspondence between suppliers, Mirion factories in Europe, Canada and USA, and freight forwarders.

Excellent organisational skills are needed to enable effective communication between the sales & services team and logistics companies to promote efficient shipping solutions.

This role is a full-time position, based in Warrington and belongs to the Technologies Group EMEA/APAC reporting to the UK Sales Director.

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site Monday to Thursday and if required can work remotely on a Friday.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Logistics Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments both Inbound and outbound conforming to HMRC Revenue & Customs regulations
  • Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
  • Making special shipping arrangements when necessary
  • Tracking and fixing shipping errors
  • Custom Clearance
  • Receiving and Dispatching Goods
  • Goods Receipts on SAP
  • Warehouse Logistics: organisation, stocks intake
  • Working with other departments to ensure import/export of goods into the company meet all legal requirements
  • Responsible for coordinating building specific QSHE compliance in accordance with company policies
  • Support Sales & Service Order Processing roles

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Logistics Coordinator are:

  • Import/Export & Customs Compliance & Regulations
  • Must be up to date with new EU legislation and worldwide export control requirements
  • Working knowledge of the freight forwarding and shipping agent processes and ability to influence their performance to ensure we remain compliant
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Show passion in delivering high quality work for all our clients and other members of the team
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet set deadlines
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Flexible attitude
  • Team player
  • Able to take direction and follow processes and procedures
  • Experience of ERP systems, in particular SAP
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel
  • Manual handling (desirable)
  • Familiarity of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (desirable)
  • Fork-Lift Driving Licence (desirable)
